Meet Rita Issagholian
I have three passions in life: higher consciousness, children and social justice. I feel honored to pursue and elevate my passions through my family law practice.
I’ve been an attorney for over two decades. I began my law practice in California after earning my Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California. I represented commercial general liability insurance companies and advised them in handling complex construction defect claims, including negotiation, mediation and litigation of matters related to insurance coverage. Pursuing my interest in higher consciousness, I studied at the University of Santa Monica and earned a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health and Healing.
In 2007, my family moved to Colorado Springs to enjoy a slower pace in life. Initially, I volunteered with CASA of the Pikes Peak Region as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in high conflict divorce cases. This experience sparked my interest in family law where I would have the opportunity to combine my legal skills with the principles of Spiritual Psychology.
Generally, a client comes to me during a very difficult time in their life. They’ve been living with conflict for a while and are now facing the challenges that come with dissolving a significant relationship. Often, it gets more complex and challenging when children are involved.
As an attorney, I clearly help the client navigate the legal system. My goal is to obtain the best result for them and their family either through negotiation, mediation or litigation. As a counselor at law, I offer my client a higher perspective about their situation so that the choices they make are from a conscious, heart-centered place rather than reacting to the distress of the situation before them. I listen deeply, see clearly through the clutter of a situation and offer solutions that will have a lasting impact on how the client approaches their life beyond their current situation.
I’ve had the privilege of living on 3 continents and within diverse cultures. I’ve also had times when I worked 2 part time jobs, attended college and the only dinner I could afford was 2 hot dogs for a dollar from 7-11. Through my broad and varied experience in life, I have found a deep appreciation for the fullness of the human experience and have learned to meet it head on with honesty, compassion and focused intention.
One of the greatest lessons I have mastered is to discern my own voice from that of the crowd around me and to speak it with courage, truth and integrity. In my daily life, I aim to give full expression to that Divine Light that resides in me, you and every soul on this planet.
